Growth

After waking up and finding our life, it gives you exactly what you need. You will never find yourself in a rush, you explore your strenghts and you receive all the information that contributes to your growth. Yesterday friend J. caught me with the following words:

Walnuts

Every two weeks I visit a lovely Turkish family, and every time they surprise me with their knowledge of food, spices and cooking! From now on I will share with you my experiences during these visits. 

Taken from the trees, and consumed right away, is the most delightful way to eat walnuts, I found out.  Peeling off the outer shell is a tricky job. Your hands get real dirty. Like you have been to a Henna-party. But then, when you did the difficult job, you get closer to something precious. These fresh walnuts are in now way to compare with the ones you buy at the supermarket or even your local refreshment store.

Remove the hard and brown shell by crackling it and hold the chestnut in your hand, peel off the thin layer (this is only possible with the fresh ones, and that makes them special). By doing this the fresh walnuts turn even more white. White like milk. And with peeling off this thin layer you release a wonderful taste sensation that is so completely a pure and delightful. Enjoy finding, discovering and experience them (and your life)!

Whisky

J: Dat heb je me helemaal niet verteld!
M: Oh, echt (…denkt…), jawel toch? Toen we de vorige keer…
J: (Schudt van nee)
M: Nou! Dan bij deze. Ik drink whisky.
J: Zonder iets erin?
M: Ja, helemaal zonder iets erin! 

J. leerde me wat high ball is! Whisky met Ginger ale. Heerlijk drankje, als je het mij vraagt. Maar voor een mixje neem je nog altijd een niet te dure whisky. Echte whisky drink je puur! Ook zo gek op whisky’s, ga dan zeker eens een keer naar L&B. Dat is het whiskycafe van Amsterdam. Volgens hun site hebben ze er meer dan 1080. En het is er ook nog eens heel gezellig.
